Cercis' MN Strain Cold Hardy Redbud Tree

ℹ A spectacular and hardy spring bloomer, with stunning pink to purple flowers held tightly on bare branches in early spring, holding on longer than other varieties for 3-4 weeks. Beautiful heart-shaped leaves emerge reddish to burgundy, mature to a dark green, and then turn a warm yellow in autumn. Sometimes called the eastern redbud, the most useful type of redbud in northern gardeners is the 'Minnesota Strain', which was developed at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum to survive through our tough winters. Plant in properly drained soils that still have good moisture availability.
