Product Overview

Gherking is a strong, productive pickling cucumber that produces firm, dark-green fruits in the 3–5 inch range with excellent crunch and no bitterness, even when they size up a little. The vigorous vines perform especially well on a trellis, which keeps the cucumbers cleaner and makes harvesting easier as the plants grow. This parthenocarpic variety produces plenty of female flowers, so it sets fruit consistently without relying on pollinators. While it’s bred for pickling—thanks to its slightly spined skin that handles processing beautifully—it’s also crisp and flavourful enough to enjoy fresh. With a quick maturity window of roughly 55–60 days, Gherking is a dependable choice for anyone wanting an early, abundant cucumber harvest.
