ℹ Black Amber goes undisputed as one of the best Japanese plums on the market. Bred by J.H.Weinerberger from Fresno, California (USA), in 1980. It is a midseason, heavy bearing plum producing medium to large, round or slightly flattened fruit of beautiful midnight purple-blue colour. The taste is considered excellent, complex, balanced  sweet and acid with dominant sweetness. The flesh is extremely juicy with beautiful amber yellow color and red closer to the stone. A premium plum adored by many for its attractive and appetizing appearance and delectable, juicy, complex flavors. Great eaten fresh or used in sauces, preserves etc. Pollinate with another Japanese plum variety like Shiro plum.
