ℹ A blackberry breakthrough! The first and only blackberry of its kind, with pale ivory colored berries! A very sweet berry with all the flavor and juiciness you’d want, with slightly less acidity than regular blackberries and a unique hint of citrus which makes your taste buds dance in delight! They are also slightly larger than common blackberries and the birds tend to leave them alone as there are no bright colors to attract them. An exciting new non gmo variety which was discovered growing in a patch among other blackberries in Illinois so it's cold hardiness is undisputed(-34c). Polar Berry grows more in a long-lived, upright shrub form than a vine, so it needs no trellising and is easy to pick. Produces on second-year canes with fruit that doesn’t leak, and stores and freezes very well. Stunning in a fruit salad and simply delicious out-of-hand. Good disease-resistance, too. Self-pollinating, but yields bigger crops when planted near a different blackberry variety with a similar bloom time.Â
