ℹ Carefree beauty with edible appeal add Adams to your Elderberry collection or landscape. Very productive, cold hardy and easy to grow. Vigorous plants have glossy green foliage and in May they develop large beautiful white flower-heads. If not harvested first for fritters, tea, or wine, elderflowers develop into exceptional, huge clusters of large deliciously sweet, purplish black berries. Used for pies, jams, preserves, juice and wine. Fruit contains a high amount of vitamin C and has better, consistent quality than wild elderberries. Ripens in August. Adams Elderberries are partially self fruitful but you will increase production by having a second variety of any other elderberry variety. Not bothered by insects or disease. Tolerates wet locations, grows in any soil in partial shade or full sun.
