ℹ Whipcord is an unique shrubby, slow-growing dwarf form of western red cedar and a real gem in any garden. Growing pendulous whipcord-like green foliage which gracefully arching from branchlets rising upward, fountain-like, from the center before arching downward. Foliage turns copper-bronze in winter.

‘Whipcord’ originated as a chance seedling at Drakes Crossing Nursery in Silverton, Oregon in 1986 and after years of testing it was introduced in 1999. Since its introduction, tens of thousands of Whipcord cultivars have made their way into North American gardens in no small measure because of its unusual growth habit.
