Salix' Niobe Willow Tree

ℹ A weeping willow is simply one of the most elegant and restful trees you can have in your yard, and the Niobe cultivar is no exception, known for their falling canopy of foliage reminiscent of a waterfall. The Niobe Weeping Willow is one of the first to leaf out in spring and last to drop their leaves in fall. In spring white flowers develop as catkins much like those of the Pussy Willow and highly prized by bees for an early pollen source. The four inch, narrow leaves have finely-toothed edges that maintain a lively green color during the summer months and turn to a vibrant yellow colour in fall. The branchlets shift and flow beautifully in the breeze and even in the winter months is sure to delight with its decorative golden bark. Thrives in wet soil but can tolerate drought when mature.
